Mrs. Pellan-Shea is directly responsible for maintaining the Enrollment Management Plan for the school, which includes student recruitment, admission, and enrollment. This includes the planning, coordination, and implementation necessary to carry out on-campus and off-campus programs for student recruitment, admission, financial assistance and student enrollment. Mrs. Pellan-Shea coordinates and participates in visitations to local Catholic schools, local parishes and church communities, and other civic organizations, sharing information about Cathedral High School’s outstanding education.
Each year Mrs. Pellan-Shea oversees the Student for a Day shadowing program, where prospective students accompany a current student to experience what a day at Cathedral is like. She also coordinates several on-campus activities to show off the school to prospective students and their families, including Open Houses, special receptions at school functions and information sessions with parents about the financial aid application process.
After four years as a teacher at one of Cathedral’s feeder schools, Ms. Pellan-Shea spent ten years teaching English at Cathedral, beginning in 1987. She is married to a Cathedral alumnus and has three children, one of whom graduated as a member of the Class of 2004.
She served as an admission counselor at Elms College before moving into the classroom.
She holds a Massachusetts certification as an Elementary School Teacher and a certification in Enrollment Management. She is a member of the National Catholic Educational Association.
She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Elms College. |
