Alumni Events Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony
There is a wonderful tradition of athletic achievement and outstanding
play at Cathedral High. In the 1970’s a Sports Hall of Fame was
established to honor student-athletes, coaches and administrators who,
through their achievements on and off the field, have brought honor to
Cathedral High School. The Hall of Fame generally holds induction ceremonies
prior to the home Thanksgiving Day football game against Westfield High
School. Do to the tornado we will be having the event on Sunday, December
4, 2011 at the Cedars Banquet Hall at St. Anthony’s on Island Pond
Rd. in Springfield MA. To nominate someone for consideration by the Hall of Fame Committee, please follow the link for the online nomination form, or contact Terry Cosgriff at Cathedral at 413-782-5285. In 2011 the tournament was be played on September 9th at the two municipal golf courses in Springfield, Franconia Golf Course and Veteran’s Memorial Golf Course. at Cathedral High School is the St. Joseph Medal Dinner that honors alumni,
former teachers, administrators and other members of the Cathedral community
who have led outstanding lives. Held each year at the school, the event
hosts 250 to 350 people for a silent auction, cocktail reception, dinner
and a brief awards ceremony. The 2011 Dinner was held on Saturday,
March 5, 2011. Watch this space for the announcement of the 2012 St. Joseph Medal dinner. Golden Panthers Mass and Luncheon is held
annually to gather alumni who graduated more than 50 years ago. Msgr.
Christopher Connelly, a member of the Class of 1984, has become the Chaplain
and "mascot" of the Golden Panthers, and celebrates the Mass
each year. This year more 500 people attended this wonderful event. The
